Attractions To Explore in Philly
The Rocky Statue & Rocky Steps
If you’re looking for interactive outdoor activities to explore when in Philly, this article was written for you, brought to you by the slip and fall injury lawyer in Philly from Philly Slip And Fall Guys.
Known as one two of the most desired attractions to visit in Philly, the Rocky Statue and the “Rocky Steps” are a must-see for visitors.
Located right outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the museum’s stairways have made their mark as a picturesque spot to stop and snap a few shots as they make the trek up the stairs to the museum.
With the constant flow of visitors from all around, everyone visits to see the Rocky Statue, one of Philadelphia’s most famed pieces of art available to the public. The statue takes after the fictional character Rocky Balboa in the film Rocky III in 1980.
After the creation of the film, actor Sylvester Stallone donated the statue to the City of Philadelphia as a token of his appreciation.
The statue has been located at the Philadelphia Museum of Art at the bottom of the stairs since 2006, and there is a nearly endless stream of people waiting in line to get their pictures taken with the “Italian Stallion.”
Since the statue was donated, it is free for the public to enjoy and take as many photos as you’d like. If you’re interested in learning more about the statue and the making of the movie, we recommend you check out the Rocky Tour of Philadelphia for a self-guided tour of the city, attractions, and the locations seen in the Rocky films.
